The Social Security Administration's (SSA) mission is to advance the economic security of the nation’s people through compassionate and vigilant leadership in shaping and managing America's Social Security programs.
The Administration’s Strategic Plan charts the course that will maintain a strong level of performance on core workloads and work toward long-term improvement of service to the public by concentrating on four goals:
- Eliminate hearings backlog and prevent its recurrence;
- Improve the speed and quality of SSA's disability process;
- Improve retiree and other core services; and
- Preserve the public's trust in SSA’s programs.
